Costumes for Half a Pill of pink
The parachute used in Half a Pill of Pink was originally used as a devising technique and became a key element of the performance after experimenting with lighting and the movement of the fabric in rehearsal
As a collective, we devised several performances for the Horniman Museum late night event Neon Late. We spent two weeks in the rehearsal room sharing ideas, experimenting with objects, lighting and sounds from the 80’s and using our performance art backgrounds from the University of Roehampton to play with movement and contemporary devising techniques.
Acid house music and the fashion of rave culture were a huge influence on the visual elements of the performance as well as the repetitive nature of house music. D-Mob’s track "We call it acieed" was a key song in the performance and trance like movement was used throughout evoking the rave culture of the 80’s.
